Cottin & Desgouttes cars in Movies
Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang
The United Artists film Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang, launched in 1969, starts with a sequence of imaginary “Grand Prix”. Alongside several make-believe cars built for the film, there were a few real Edwardian cars, including a Cottin & Desgouttes. It appears this was the Grand Prix 1911 that now belongs to George Wingard.
Three images from Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang – the Cottin & Desgouttes is number “37”. In the first two pictures, the car is behind number “3” – the star of the movie.
